From Humble Hatch to V6 Turbo Weapon

This week’s Testimonial Tuesday comes with a serious twist – an insane engine swap project that we’re proud to be supporting at CG Motorsport.

You may have already seen Twin Engine Corsa making waves on YouTube with one of the wildest Vauxhall Adam builds in the UK right now. What started life as a standard 2013 Adam 1.4 is now undergoing a full transformation with a 2.8 V6 Turbo Z28NET engine swap from the Vectra VXR, paired with a Holset HX52 Turbo.

This is no average build – this is an all-out performance project.

The Build Targets

• 🚗 Car: 2013 Vauxhall Adam
• ⚙️ Engine Swap: 1.4 ➝ 2.8 V6 Turbo Z28NET
• 💥 Turbo: Holset HX52
• 🎯 Target Power: 400–500 BHP
• 🛣️ Use: Fully road-driven build

This combination promises brutal power delivery with real-world usability – a rare mix.

The Z28NET – A Proven Performance Platform

The Z28NET 2.8 V6 Turbo was originally engineered by GM for high-performance VXR models including the Vectra VXR. It’s widely respected for:

• Exceptional strength under boost
• Proven reliability at high power levels
• Huge tuning potential
• Strong internal components as standard

That makes it the perfect heart transplant for a lightweight Adam shell - offering wild power-to-weight performance potential.

Our Role – Handling the Power

With a build targeting up to 500 BHP, a standard clutch setup simply isn’t an option. To make sure this Adam can put the power down safely and reliably, we’ve supplied:

• ✅ Heavy-duty clutch cover
• ✅ Solid flywheel conversion
• ✅ Organic Heavy Duty Sprung SHM friction plate
• ✅ Rated to 650 Nm / 479 lb/ft of torque

This setup gives the perfect balance of:

• Street-friendly drivability
• High torque capacity
• Long-term durability under aggressive use
